“Your children are precious…and we think so too!”
BarBar is a happy, safe and secure environment where every child is valued and treated as an individual. The emphasis is to encourage confidence, effort, kindness and humour, whilst educating and preparing children for school life. At all of our nurseries, we pride ourselves on our personal service and flexibility and we will do our best to help you.
“She had a fabulous time at BarBar and came on in leaps and bounds. She is my sixth child and the only one who had such a lovely diary- it was so beautiful, it made me cry. At school last week she was the only one in her reception class who knew her numbers. Thank you all so much!”

Our History
BarBar was set up by two friends – Carol Barker and Sandra Barton – who met in 1992 whilst both Childminding and running Girl Guide Units in Stroud. Several years later, the good friends were able to realise their joint dream of establishing their own Nursery when the premises at The Rosary School became available.
“BarBar” comes from Carol and Sandra’s surnames as well as the wings of the butterfly in flight (as seen on the logo) – signifying a unity of friendship and the freedom to explore. This is carried forward into the settings for the children.
